Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie received a hostile reception at the Florida Republican Party’s Freedom Summit on Saturday. As he walked on stage, he was met with boos and yells from the crowd, which was mostly comprised of supporters of former President Donald Trump.
In response to the audience’s reaction, Christie delivered a strong message, stating that their anger against the truth was reprehensible and would not solve any of the problems facing the country. He criticized their pettiness and emphasized that such behavior was beneath the process of electing a president.
To get the attendees to listen to him, Christie challenged them to keep quiet if their arguments were truly strong and let him present his own “awful arguments” for them to reject. He accused the crowd of fearing the truth and wanting to shout down any voice that contradicted their own beliefs. However, he made it clear that their efforts to silence him did not bother him.
Shifting the focus of the discussion, Christie urged the audience to pay attention to the atrocities happening in Israel and emphasized the importance of standing united with the state of Israel and fighting terrorism globally.
The Freedom Summit in Kissimmee featured several GOP presidential candidates, including Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Tim Scott, Doug Burgum, and Asa Hutchinson.
