Americans abroad should “exercise increased caution,” says State Department

Amid the Israel-Hamas war, the US State Department has warned its citizens to be careful while traveling. They have posted guidelines and instructions on their website to help people stay safe in the face of rising security risks worldwide.
The State Department is concerned about the possibility of terrorist attacks, protests, or violent actions against US citizens and interests. Therefore, they are advising US citizens who are traveling abroad to be extra cautious.
Here are the guidelines and instructions that the US State Department has given
- Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists.
- Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency overseas.

Various protests erupted at U.S. and Israeli embassies around the world, including those in Tunisia, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and Morocco after the hospital blast in Gaza City killed hundreds on Tuesday. Israeli and Palestinian officials traded accusations over who was responsible for the devastating explosion.
